These are the friends who were so kind to provide hours of support that made my first book possible. I envisioned a photo shoot in which I would pose on the middle bike (Josh's Harley) -  but when we arrived and I saw the old-school tricycle, I was like, "oh, heck yes. I've found my ride."

Hi, I'm Stephen Young, Photographer of Places.

I love people and I love taking compelling photos of the places where we connect with each other.

I photograph homes, schools, offices, galleries, honky-tonks, museums, restaurants...

A dear friend recently said, Stephen, you really are comfortable anywhere."
I think she was referring to tuxedos and t-shirts but I believe my ease most any place comes from my genuine desire to know and understand the people who connect in the spaces I'm commissioned to photograph.

It's important to understand how the space is - or will be used well before the camera comes out of my bag.

So, if you are a designer, developer, builder, or owner of a beautiful space with a story - and you want compelling images to clearly convey that story, I'm your guy.

Call me.

We'll talk. We'll compare calendars. And we'll soon meet in person.
Often within days of your call.

But I'll probably leave my road buddies at home :)

Your guy,
Stephen

And this is how it all started...
